#GivingTuesday - Dedicate Today to Giving Back to the Community

It's #GivingTuesday!

After all of the holiday shopping you have done the last couple of days we hope you saved some of your funds to give back to the community on today November 29th --- socially known as  #GivingTuesday.  #GivingTuesday is a global initiative designed to help promote and support charitable organizations who are making a difference. Whether you are giving your time, donation or  gift we hope you will consider taking the day to support noteworthy organizations in your community. Feel free to check out some of our community-based organization in the local area below. 


Sowing Empowerment and Economic Development, (SEED) Inc. SEED is a multi-faceted service provider agency whose programs include the SEED Food Distribution Center, Coat of Many Colors Clothes Closet, EXCEL Academy Public Charter School, EXCEL Academy Freedom School, SEED Summer Bridge Tutoring Program and the SEED Extended Learning Program.  SEED is also a HUD approved housing counseling agency.  Through academic achievement, community services, housing and economic development, SEED will create environments where all individuals are empowered, children are nurtured, families are strengthened and communities are transformed. 

Community Advocates for Family and Youth (CAFY) is a 501(c)(3) providing victim advocacy and support services, crisis intervention, and community education programs that address the causes and impacts of all types of violence and crime.


National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) Prince George's County

NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots organization dedicated to building better lives for persons and their families who are affected by mental illness. Founded in 1979, NAMI has affiliates in every state and the District of Columbia across the country. NAMI provides free education and support for program participants; promotes awareness and understanding of mental health conditions and mental illness related stigma; and advocates for greater access to quality mental health services, more employment opportunities, and affordable housing.

eXPosure is a nonprofit program of The Napoleon Complex Project that serves to provide Universities & HBCU college students with insight and exposure to the multi-media industry.


The Center for Leadership Innovation is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to serving communities through society's most valuable asset: its leaders. Through leadership workshops & training, peer consultant networks and funding opportunities, TCLI is helping diverse leaders reach their full potential and leverage their ability to bring about innovative change.
